Welcome to the Desi Videsi Meetup Group!
Welcome to New version 2.0 of the previously known Desi Meetup group.
What has changed?
We have added the word Videsi to our name.
Why did we make the change?
By putting both terms desi (i.e. someone from South Asian diaspora) and videsi (i.e. someone from another culture) together we wanted to represent the inclusiveness of this group. We welcome new members from any cultural background, so you don’t need to be a desi to join us. You just need to love all things desi!
How does this effect how we run the group and the activities we plan?
Nothing changes. We will continue to celebrate our South Asian heritage and continue to build a place where we can socialize and meet regularly to enjoy different activities like Singing, Dancing and board games to name a few.
Join us this summer as we have some exciting events in the works.
Some very basic rules of engagement:
- Respect for others is fundamental and a non-negotiable!
- This is not a religious or political group.
- Absolutely no solicitation or marketing activities
- If you RSVP please ensure you show up on time and respect everyone’s time!
