Are There Limits on the Right to Free Speech? (Philosophy Matters event)

Details

Philosophy Matters is hosting a discussion on freedom of speech and the case for this freedom being largely unlimited or subject to restrictions where speech involves threats or is likely to lead to violence or harm.

This discussion may appeal to discourse society participants and if you have topics related to freedom, gender, sexuality, anti-racism, social or political equality, anti-discrimination or the like you would like to see presented - or could help co-present - please get in touch via a personal message to Akiva or posting on this Meetup event or group.

Martin Coleman and Akiva Quinn will present arguments and examine cases where free speech and freedom of expression may or may not be justified given its consequences in commercial, political and personal contexts which may interest some discourse society members.
