Tough times can also teach us valuable lessons. We've all had to weather the same storm thanks to lockdowns, but not all of us are in the same boat. Why do some people seem to thrive on adversity and raise their game when presented with a challenge? Why do others find their resolve crumbling or feel like they're going to break under pressure and stress? Of course the answers are multi-faceted but resilience is key.
Learning to increase your resilience is important because you can develop the strength needed to process and overcome hardship. If you are lacking resilience, you may get easily overwhelmed, and perhaps turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Resilient people are able to tap into their strengths and support systems to overcome challenges and work through problems. Our problems are not going to suddenly go away, but we can learn how to cope in a more helpful and beneficial way.
This session will give an overview of what resilience is, how to develop it and some practical methods to try when faced with issues or overwhelm.
