Jason Turner - The Best and the Worst of C++20 and C++23

Hi everyone!

First of all, best wishes for 2023!! 🙂 C++ has had an interesting year in 2022... I’m positive 2023 is going to be even more exciting... and that will also be the case with our Meetup group! Thanks to JetBrains and in particular Anastasia Kazakova and Jason Turner! Since they made it possible to organize a Meetup at the JetBrains office in the city center of Amsterdam, with a talk from Jason, as he happens to be in Europe.

I’m fairly certain a lot of people might already know who Jason Turner is, as he has been the co-host of CppCast (348 episodes) he does the C++ weekly on YouTube (358 episodes, at the time of writing), he’s also a famous conference speaker on various topics such as constexpr and tooling, he’s a C++ trainer, author of the C++ best practices book and various C++ puzzle books.

JetBrains will be hosting us. They are known for various products, including quite a few awesome IDEs (I'm personally a fan of their products already for a while). There will be the usual, such as food and drinks, but also we will organize an office tour, and they will raffle some JetBrains licenses during the Meetup.

About the presentation... Jason was planning to do a special talk for the occasion, so we’ll have to do without an abstract for now, but the working title is definitely intriguing: “The Best and the Worst of C++20 and C++23” 🙂

We can socialize and chat after the talk. But food and drinks are not allowed in this area.
