Details
The Barnton Bunker complex was originally built as part of Britain’s air defences during the Second World War. Cold War Role: After WWII, it took on highly classified functions throughout the Cold War period. The site was officially decommissioned in the early 1990s. Today, it is preserved and developed for the community, supported by charitable trusts and overseen as part of Scotland’s charity register.
