This is a very friendly and welcoming group of people who share a love for photography. The Edinburgh Photography Meetup Group exists to give digital photographers a means to connect and provide a focus for their creativity.

BEYOND COLOUR. BOTANICS
Botanic Garden East Gate, Edinburgh EH3 5LP, UK, Edinburgh, GBThis month, our inspiration will be Harry Gruyaert, the street photographer, who uses colour as the main focus of interest to tell his stories. It is described as :”reality through colour”. His use of colour goes beyond aesthetics.

I suggest we use colourful objects as the starting point of our pictures. We don’t have to copy his style exactly, but be influenced by his work. Colours: autumnal, but also people and objects, all in context.
While we are there, let's take in the newly reopened Palm Houses. These Victorian Glasshouses have been closed for several years for restoration, we'd love to see them again.
The Botanic Gardens are free but if you want to see the Palm Houses, you must book your own ticket online. I suggest booking a 1:30pm slot.

However we don’t have to copy his style, just take influence from his work.We will meet in front of Wex Photo. Nearest tram stop is McDonald Road. We can walk down Leith walk (the most interesting part I think is further down Leith Walk). You can take a bus or tram back up if you like and we will meet afterwards for drinks at Joseph Pearce pub,
