Natural Light Portraits

Details
POSTPONED TO SAT 9th AUGUST DUE TO ILLNESS.
Portrait photography holds immense power in its ability to capture the essence of a person in a single frame. More than just a visual representation, a well-crafted portrait can reveal emotion, personality, and even untold stories. Through light, composition, and expression, photographers can highlight vulnerability, strength, or quiet resilience, creating a connection between the subject and viewer. Portraits preserve moments in time, serving as lasting reminders of identity, culture, and history. They can challenge perceptions, humanize strangers, and evoke empathy in ways that words often cannot. Whether candid or posed, every portrait is a collaboration—a silent dialogue between subject and artist that speaks volumes. In both personal and societal contexts, portrait photography becomes a mirror, reflecting not only the individual but also the world around them. Its power lies not just in what it shows, but in what it makes us feel and understand about others and ourselves.
At this event, we will become one another’s subject whilst having the opportunity to experiment with lighting modifiers such as reflectors and diffusers. The first in a series I hope to run, we will also get into a studio to photograph professional models.
