4D3N Gunung Tahan (Merapoh-Merapoh) Trek (Challenging!!)

Join us for a challenging 4D3N climb to the Roof of Peninsular Malaysia. At 2,187m high, Mount Tahan is the highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia and considered by by many to be one of the toughest treks in Malaysia.

Date: 4-9 Aug 2022

Day 01
4/8 (Thu)
SINGAPORE – JB SENTRAL
At 7pm, meet at JB Sentral Railway Station for overnight train (sleeping berth) to Merapoh.
Overnight: In train

Day 02
5/8 (Fri)
MERAPOH – CAMP KOR
In the morning upon arrival at Merapoh train station, transfer via 4WD to Sungai Relau for trek registration.
Thereafter you will proceed to the trailhead at Kuala Juram where you will start the trek to Camp Kor (13.5km; approx. 4-6 hrs trek).
Estimated arrival time at Camp Kor is 3-4pm.
Overnight: Camping

Day 03
6/8 (Sat)
CAMP KOR – CAMP BOTAK
Today will be a 16km (approx. 6-8 hours) trek to Camp Botak
Estimated arrival time at Camp Botak is 3-4pm.
Overnight: Camping

Day 04
7/8 (Sun)
CAMP BOTAK – SUMMIT – CAMP KOR
Wake up early in the morning around 5am for the summit push.
It is about 2.5km (approx. 1 hr) climb to the summit.
After enjoying the summit view, you descend back to Camp Botak for breakfast (2.5km; approx. 45 min).
Thereafter you will break camp and descend back to Camp Kor Camp 16km (approx. 5-7 hours)
Estimated arrival time at Camp Kor is 3-4pm.
Overnight: Camping

Day 05
8/8 (Mon)
CAMP KOR – KULAU JURAM – SUNGAI RELAU – MERAPOH – JB SENTRAL – SINGAPORE
After breakfast, descend back to Kuala Juram (13.5km; approx. 4-6 hrs trek) where you will be transferred by 4WD to Sungai Relau
Wash up at Sungai Relau and then proceed to Merapoh for dinner.
Rest and relax till overnight train back to JB Sentral

Day 06
9/8 (Tue)
Arrival at JB Sentral
Estimated arrival time at JB Sentral is 10am.

SGD 460 each person (based on group of 4 pax or more)

Price includes:

• 2-way train ticket (sleeping berth) between JB Sentral and Merapoh
• 2 way 4WD transfer between Merapoh and trailhead
• English speaking guide
• Trekking permit
• All meals during the trek
• Porter for carrying communal items (food, cooking equipment, flysheet, groundsheet

Price excludes:

• Travel insurance
• All meals not mentioned
• All expenses of a personal nature
• *Porters to carry personal belonging

*Porters to carry personal belonging can be arranged at SGD 450 per porter for the whole trek. Each porter can carry up to 15 kg so a few of us can share one porter.
