French Masterclasses Series — #1 Reflexive verbs

We’ll climb the “reflexive verbs” ladder vertically—from simple A1 foundations to B2-level nuance. That means you’ll learn what’s essential now for your level, and you’ll also see what comes next (so you can grow into it). This can’t be mastered in A1 alone; each level adds new rules, frames, and edge cases.

How the level ladder works:
• A1 → What reflexive/pronominal verbs are, daily routines, basic forms and placement (me/te/se; negatives; simple questions).
• A2 → Two-verb chains and modals (aller/pouvoir/devoir + se + infinitif), imperatives (affirmative vs negative), prepositions with infinitives (avant de / pour / sans + se + infinitif).
• B1 → Passé composé with être and the agreement decision path; reciprocal vs reflexive; body-part rule; when there’s no agreement.
• B2 → Idiomatic/pronominal verbs and finer points: se rendre compte (fixed frame), se souvenir (de) vs se rappeler (no de), s’apercevoir (de/que), the effect of en on agreement, and the passive-pronominal pattern (ça se dit / se vend / se fait).

Who it’s for: Mixed-level learners (A1 to B2). Beginners get a clear, confidence-building core; higher levels get the missing pieces and the “why” behind tricky cases—all in one focused hour.

Takeaway: A coherent mental map of reflexive verbs that you can reuse across tenses and contexts, plus quick tests to choose the right frame (oneself / each other / idiomatic / passive-pronominal).
