Welcome to The Friendly Ladies of Northern Virginia Meetup!

Whether you are a long-time resident or new in town, our group is for women who love exploring the best of both worlds.

In 2004 I started the Friendly Ladies group with a simple goal: to meet a few new people and occasionally go out for coffee or lunch. I had just moved to the area, with no friends or family nearby, and as an empty nester, I felt the need to connect with other women and enjoy what this community has to offer.

What began as a small idea quickly grew. Within just a few months, hundreds of women joined. It became clear that many of us were looking for the same thing—friendship, connection, and a sense of belonging.

To support this growing interest, I created a system where any member can organize events. This way, our group isn’t just about attending meetups—it's about building a vibrant, active social community where everyone can contribute and enjoy meaningful connections. And it’s working! We've already had hundreds of events, from casual get-togethers to more organized outings.
