The Future of Work Scotland team are delighted to welcome Jean-Paul Bayley as a guest speaker for April.

Are you tired of talking at people on virtual calls and watching their energy drop off a cliff?

In this session, you’ll experience six simple, brain-friendly principles that turn passive listeners into active participants – whether you’re running a team meeting, a training session, or a workshop with colleagues and stakeholders.
Drawing on Training from the BACK of the Room!, we’ll explore how movement, talking, writing, images & words, shorter chunks, and variety help people stay engaged and actually remember what you’ve covered.
You won’t just hear about the principles – you’ll use them. Through fast-paced activities, small-group breakouts, and a simple graphic organiser, you’ll try out each practice and see how it feels from the participant’s perspective. Then you’ll plan concrete next steps to apply the principles in your own virtual sessions.

You’ll leave able to:
- List the 6 principles behind more engaging sessions
- Apply them immediately to your own workshops, trainings, and meetings
Bring a current or upcoming session in mind – you’ll walk away with at least one concrete idea you can use straight away.

Learning Objectives - what you'll take away from this session:

● List the 6 principles behind more engaging sessions
● Apply them immediately to your own workshops, trainings, and meetings
● Explain what TBR is and how you can use it to increase engagement and retention in workshops.
