Strength, Discipline & Masculinity: The Role of Martial Arts in a Man’s Life
Details
In today’s world, physical confrontation is rare, but the challenges of life demand resilience, confidence, and control. Should a man still know how to fight? Beyond self-defense, martial arts instill discipline, sharpen the mind, and teach the art of controlled strength.
To help us explore this topic, we’re honored to welcome Matt Soroka, a 2nd-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and Judo brown belt with 30 years of grappling experience. Matt has trained with world champions and UFC fighters, including Carlos Newton and Mark Bocek, and earned his black belt at Nova Uniao headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. As the co-founder of Jits Magazine, he has traveled the world—training, competing, and teaching in Brazil, Japan, Abu Dhabi, and beyond. Now, he brings his wealth of experience to our discussion on how martial arts shape not only a man’s physical ability but also his mindset, discipline, and approach to life’s challenges.
Join us on Thursday, March 13th, at Bee Garden for an insightful evening of discussion, personal stories, and lessons from one of the best in the field. Whether you're a practitioner, an enthusiast, or simply interested in the philosophy behind martial arts, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
Event fee: 20€ paid in cash at the venue - goes towards wine, water and snacks.
