Splash Social: Hiking & Watersports at Lake Norman State Park

Join The Girls, The Gays, & The Great Outdoors of Charlotte for a chill, sun-soaked day hike at one of our favorite lakeside spots—Lake Norman State Park! Whether you’re looking for good views, good company, or just a reason to get out of the house, this is your sign to lace up those boots and come through.

We’ll tackle the Lake Shore Trail, a scenic loop with lake views, forest shade, and plenty of places to pause for snacks, conversation, and group selfies. This hike is beginner-friendly and around 3-5 miles, so bring your walking besties and let’s wander at 10:00am.

Afterwards we’ll go to Lake Effects Boat Rentals and kayak, paddleboard, and sunbathe on the water. If we have anyone with an NC Boater’s license and a good truck hitch, we’ll see about renting a pontoon and cruising around the lake.
