What we’re about

The Glasgow Diners Group is for everyone who loves socializing, food and eating out.
Group will offer a good platform where you can meet & greet some nice people, share some delicious food & drink and get to know one another with similar interests.
Group will aim to organise regular socialising, food and eating out activities (breakfasts, lunches, afternoon tea / coffee, dinner, etc).

WELCOME!
We shall try to arrange at least 2 meetups a month usually at one of Glasgow's restaurants, cafes or pubs and everyone is welcome to suggest a meetup. So if you have an idea for one, please let us know.

We look forward to you joining us and meeting up for a meal or a drink in the not too distant future :-)

Please read group membership rules below before joining and sign up with a photo/picture of yourself so that we can recognise you when you come to an event.

FEES:
We are a non-profit group, but there is an annual fee of £10.00 for group membership. This is to cover the Meetup subscription cost and expenses. Therefore, members who do not pay their annual fees will be removed from the group.

The fee renews at the beginning of each calender year. For new members it is due when you join your second Diners event, so that you get a chance to see if you like the group at all.

Since some venues ask for a deposit when reserving a table, you will need a Paypal account to join this group and pay the deposit of various events. This is the best way to run a Meetup group like ours. If there is a refundable deposit for an event, it will be refunded at the event by crediting it to your bill. Third party fees (Paypal, Meetup, ticket fees or alike) to make the deposit cannot be refunded.

NO SHOWS AND CANCELLATIONS:
If you have RSVPd "yes" to a meetup but find that you cannot make it for whatever reason, please change your RSVP to "no" ASAP so that other members have a chance to join instead. It's common courtesy to the organizer and the other members, also to any restaurant where a table may have been booked for a certain number of people.

If you cannot make it to an event for which you have paid a deposit, please understand that we can only refund it if you cancel no later than 24 hours ahead of the event. Third party fees (Paypal, Meetup, ticket fees or alike) for a cancellation cannot be refunded by the organisers.

INACTIVE MEMBERS:
It's great to see the group growing slowly but surely, and we want it to be an active and vital group. Therefore, we would ask new members to attend a meet within 3 months of joining and we would remove members from the group who have been inactive for more than 9 months. We understand, however, that travelling, work, or health issues can make it difficult to keep it up sometimes. So please reach out to us if you wish to rejoin the group and be an active member again.
