What we’re about

Calling all Glaswegian nerds and geeks!

We're looking to hold a monthly get together in Glasgow for like-minded individuals who enjoy all things geeky - Sci-fi, Doctor Who, Star Trek (and Wars!), Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, anime, cosplay, comics, board games etc.

The idea is to meet up, have a drink or two, get to know each other and make some new friends in and around the city.

The Rules
• Please only mark RSVP if you're going to attend any event.
• We want everybody to feel safe so if you experience any difficulties with another member of the group, either in person or through messages on here, please let us know immediately and we will help
• If you cancel your RSVP within hours of the event with no explanation, or don't show up, you will be removed from the group.

• No spam, trolling, flaming etc on the group or in the comments.

• We ask that your profile picture is a picture of you, otherwise we won't accept.

• Most of our events are in bars or pubs or feature themes meant for mature audiences, ages 18+ only

Hey gamer friends, Our regular group meetup in our traditional slot, every fortnight on a Sunday at Curlers Rest. There is no official host, so if you are coming it would be great if you could bring a game or two but no pressure if you aren’t able to. Let us know what you plan to bring! You are all welcome to arrange a group ahead of time if that will help your game. Please make a point of welcoming any new people and helping them find an appropriate group/game to play. For any new folks, you are very welcome just to come along. Our usual spot is upstairs on the left

A board game night at The Gamer Club open to everyone.

The venue isn't licenced, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks/drinks and there is free tea and coffee too.

An afternoon of TTRPG adventures.

Upon arrival, you will be explained what each table is running and allocated to one of the 2 tables. There will be 2 tables running a variety of TTRPGs. Full introductions to the games will be given.

They'll be the game master (GM) to take you and your party through a 3-4 hour self-contained adventure.

We have two GMs for the moment, so the event is limited to about 12 players max (though we'll have a waiting list, so do put yourself on it and if space becomes available, you will be allocated a spot for the session-based on your position on the waiting list).

Due to the popularity and limited player slots for this event, if you say you are attending but don't show up without informing one of the organisers with a good reason why. You'll be asked to wait before claiming a space at the next session, to allow those who missed out on it to claim a spot 1st.

Each table will have dice, pens/pencils, paper and a selection of pre-made characters. You will NOT be allowed your own custom-made character or to make one on the day. All tables are beginner-friendly regardless of level.

The venue isn't licensed, but feel free to bring your own beer/wine or help yourself to tea and coffee from the kitchen.

The Gamer Club, Glasgow
For our next Geek Movie Night we’ll be watching Scott Pilgrim vs. The World on the Gamer Club projector to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the film’s release this year. Join us from 6.45pm, we’ll start the movie at 7.15pm. 
The Gamer Club is an unlicenced venue so feel free to bring along some beers or a bottle of wine - or if you prefer, there is free tea and coffee at the venue. This event is free, but donations to the club are welcome.
