Sci-fi Book Group - Books that are both Science Fiction & Fantasy

Details
A regular book group night to discuss sci-fi and expand our reading horizons! It's very informal, you don't even have to have read a book - just as long as you enjoy talking sci-fi and having a glass of wine (or coffee!)
This month we've chosen a books that are both science fiction and fantasy.
Some suggestions include:
- Wizard's Bane by Rick Cook
- "A fun, witty genre mash-up tailor-made for techies, fantasy fans, and anyone who loves a smart twist on magical worlds. Come for the geeky humor - stay for the spellcasting hacks!"
- The Silent Tower by Barbara Hambly
- "A fantasy novel that follows a character from our world who finds herself in another world where magic exists. The story revolves around the protagonist, a computer programmer, who is transported to a magical realm and gets entangled in a serious plot involving wizards, evil ex-boyfriends, and a magical conflict."
- Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
- "The apocalypse will be televised! A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible."
- Witch and Wombat
- "Set in a world called Grimmworld, where the population faces an energy crisis due to humans losing interest in fairy tales and imagination. The story follows veteran witch Hali and her familiar Bernie, who is transformed into a wombat, as they are tasked with guiding a group of gamers who mistakenly think they are in a new VR game, but are actually in the real magical realm."
Looking forward to some interesting discussions! We might get a chance to screen the pilot episode of the show afterwards.
The topic for our next book group might be a specific book, author or general topic like first encounters, robots, etc - we'll decide on the night depending on people's interests. Feel free to submit a suggestion in the comments below.
As always, you can join our chat room on matrix at #bookgroup:glasgow.social (if you don't already have access to matrix, you can sign up at https://glasgow.social/matrix).
This meeting will be held in The Gamer Club - there'll be free tea, coffee and wine :) There are some directions to the venue here: https://www.thegamerclub.co.uk/gettinghere
