Ben Venue 729m Moderate B+, from Loch Ard.

Details

Meet in a small lay-by on the Loch Ard road at Ledard, on the left just after the hotel which is more or less opposite. This is the B829 Aberfoyle to Stronachlachar road. Grid Ref NN 459 023. This in NOT the shorter route from Loch Achray given in the Walk Highlands website. We follow the path through the woods alongside Ledard Burn and then pass between Beinn Bhreac and Creag a'Bhealaich to reach Ben Venue.
Ben Venue has two summits, the one with the trig. point is not the highest, so we can visit either or both depending on what people want.
Return route is the same. The hill, though not great in stature, has stupendous views of Loch Katrine and Loch Venachar.
The weather forecast is changeable and today (Tuesday) the weather has been a lot better than forecast, which is becoming common.
If in doubt, or unable to come on the day, contact me on 07503 907 547 rather than via this website as there may be a weak internet signal at the start.
