New year traditional walk to Ben Cleuch in the Ochil's

Meet in the Ochil's woodland carpark, just east of Alva, off the A91 ready to walk for 10am.

Please ensure you have a wee dram and short bread or clouty dumpling for a new year toast at the top (coffee is ok).

We then walk through the forest and on to the land rover track to Bencluech where we will bring in the new year with a healthy toast to each other, before returning to the carpark in a circular route, covering 12km with a total ascent of 680 meters taking around 4 hours.

Please ensure your fitness for this walk and wear proper hill walking clothing to suit the weather on the day.
Please also ensure your safety at all times during the walk, as hill walking can be a very dangerous activity.

We may pop in to the Number 5 pub close to the carpark for a coffee and chat, if it is open.
