After a short illness, my best pal, soulmate and wee boy was recently relieved of his suffering and is now chasing balls and scrounging chicken somewhere up there. Diego was the most wonderful of dogs and I was so proud to have had in my life and treasure the place he will forever hold in my heart. He was a much loved dog within our hillwalking club and community and will be sadly missed by many.

Ben Donich was Diego's first hill walk, one of the many he did with GWHC. So it would be fitting to climb this in memory of him and share each of our fond memories of a very special dog. All will be welcome, whether or not you walked with or met him.

I am choosing to host this walk on the Solstice, the year's longest day, to coincide with the amount of light D-Boy brought to so many lives. At the time of posting, it is undecided as to how this day will pan out and when exactly we will hit the hillside. I am swaying between sunrise, sunset or sometime in between with a mountain top celebration as well as a bit of a shindig afterwards. I will make a decision on this over the coming days and will announce here. But please save the date in the meantime.

This walk will be of unlimited numbers, due to the occasion.
