Volunteer the Day of the Pantry
Join us for this hands-on volunteer opportunity to help make our community food pantry a welcoming and supportive space for local families in need. Volunteer tasks include:
- Helping set up the pantry
- Greeting guests as they arrive & helping coordinate clients in and out of the pantry
- Assisting guests with food selection and carrying items if needed
- Helping guests, carrying items (maybe light lifting of boxes)
- Breaking down and cleaning up after the event
No prior experience is necessary, just a friendly attitude and willingness to help. Come be part of a team that brings food, care, and community to those who need it most.
Not sure what to bring?
- Comfortable clothes you don’t mind moving around in
- Note: parking is available in the church parking lot and on-street parking available on Linden St
We’re excited to see you there and for your help in serving our community!
Other Ways to Support the Pantry
To meet our goal of feeding at least 50 families per distribution in our underserved community on December 20th, we're asking for all of your help through food and money donations.
How to Donate
- If you are able to donate to the pantry, please use the Pledge link in Meetup. Any funds donated for the pantry will be given to the Church which will then be distributed to the pantry after properly being accounted for through the Church's accounting process.
- If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact us at [goodneighborsne@gmail.com] and we'll follow up with next steps!
- Contact Max at 508.468.4099 OR email [goodneighborsne@gmail.com] to make a donation.
Your generosity will help us provide meals to local families right before the holidays. Thank you for helping us launch this pantry!
Food Donations – Shelf-Stable & Non-Perishables
We will be accepting shelf-stable foods on a rolling basis leading up to the 20th. A list of helpful items can be found on this link, but also include:
- Canned soups, beans, vegetables, and fruit
- Pasta, rice, boxed meals
- Peanut butter, shelf-stable milk, cereals
- Cooking oils, spices, pantry basics
Perishable Items
Perishables (like fresh produce, dairy, eggs) can be donated only within the week before December 20th, depending on remaining shelf life. Please reach out before dropping these items off so we can time storage properly and get them to our third-party storage space in a timely fashion.
Materials Needed
If you have extra banana boxes (the sturdy produce boxes from grocery stores) or storage totes/Tupperware-style containers, these would be incredibly helpful for organizing and transporting food.
We look forward to a successful opening pantry day on Saturday, December 20th. Thank you for contributing to this community-wide effort!
