Hi everyone! I’m Max with Good Neighbors Food Pantry. We are a grassroots effort based in North Quincy dedicated to providing food security for our neighbors. We currently support 70+ families a month, but as we grow, we want to bring more grassroots involvement into our work.
To that end, we are starting a community-based Neighborhood Leaders Program. This empowers individuals who want to give back by giving each person a direct, meaningful way to do it from their front door.
94% of our clients live right here in Quincy. We want to make giving as easy as walking the dog or heading out to work. Instead of driving to a donation center, "good neighbors" can simply drop a can of soup or a bag of flour into a bin on a nearby porch.
How it works and how you can help: We are looking for "leads" to act as hyper-local collection hubs to help us deliver much-needed food to our community members:
- Host a Bin: We provide a yellow bin for your porch or driveway
- Spread the Word: Tell your neighbors on your street or in your building that the bin is open for small drops (food, essentials, or gently used winter clothing).
- We Pick Up: Once a week, we swing by to empty the bin. No travel or heavy lifting for you.
Being a Neighborhood Leader is a low-effort, high-impact way to build community on your street and give us much needed support. Wherever you are, we want to get you involved!
