Ringwood 7+ Miles

A 7+ mile hike in Ringwood State Park. Total elevation gain is about 1300 feet. We will climb to Mount Defiance and then continue on the Ringwood Ramapo Trail to 5 Ponds Trail. We will follow this trail past Gautun Pond, Weyble Pond, and Glasmere Ponds. We will then have to climb Mount Defiance again for our return trip. The majority of this hike is moderate but there are 2 sustained climbs.

Bring plenty of water and snacks, and appropriate seasonal items (sun- and insect-protection in summer, and crampons in winter). Day-of-hike-only phone: 201-470-9317 (Paul V.).

There are should be a porta-potty at the hike location.

**Note** We hike at a moderate pace, and never leave anyone behind. Our hikes are not suitable for fast hikers who like to forge ahead of the group.
