Schunemunk Mountain PLUS Optional visit to Storm King Art Center

Let's expand our minds a bit shall we? We are not always the backwoods rubes but are actually open to culture (in small doses, outdoors when possible)!

First, we will prove that you can have a moderate hike in the infamous Schunemunk State Park! This one is a 6-mile hike with an elevation gain of 1,100 ft.

Following the hike, it is just a 5 min drive to the famous Storm King Art Center. Beware, the Art center has extensive grounds and sculpture gardens, so count on significant added mileage!

Alas, there is an admission fee, around $25, and a magnanimous "senior discount" of $2. Link: https://stormking.org/. We do not recommend purchasing tickets in advance because of weather issues. The Art Center is of course optional.

Bring plenty of water and snacks, and appropriate seasonal items (sun- and insect-protection in summer, and crampons in winter). Day-of-hike-only phone: 973-704-7362.

**Note** We hike at a moderate pace, and never leave anyone behind. Our hikes are not suitable for fast hikers who like to forge ahead of the group.
