Bearfort Ridge/Strenuous 7+ Miles

A challenging 7+ miles hike that is NOT for beginners. We will start on the green trail which will have a strenuous climb near the beginning. After that hike becomes roller coaster with numerous ups and downs on rocky trails as we follow the pink, yellow and green trails. We will have great views of West Pond, Greenwood Lake and visit Suprise Lake. There will be many photo ops on this challenging and beautiful hike. The return is a long gradual descent.

Due to limited parking at the trail head, we will meet in the shopping center with a Tractor Supply Company and Dollar General store on Union Valley Road. We will then carpool about 1/3 of a mile to the Highlands Preserve parking lot

Bring plenty of water and snacks, and appropriate seasonal items (sun- and insect-protection in summer, and crampons in winter). Day-of-hike-only phone: 201-470-9317.

**Note** We hike at a moderate pace, and never leave anyone behind. Our hikes are not suitable for fast hikers who like to forge ahead of the group.
