Ramapo Lake - Canonball Trail & VanSlyke Ruins
Details
Moderate 6 miles, about 1200 ft total elevation gain. This hike heads north with stops at Van Slyke Mansion ruins and lookout points before circling around Ramapo Lake. Let's meet about 10 minutes ahead for departure at 8:30 am at the Lower Parking Lot on Skyline Drive in Oakland, NJ (https://goo.gl/maps/5F5HfZoqnxAvY8Dr9 or, click on map).
Bring plenty of water and snacks, and appropriate seasonal items (sun- and insect-protection in summer, and crampons in winter). Day-of-hike-only phone: 973-704-7362.
**Note** We hike at a moderate pace, and never leave anyone behind. Our hikes are not suitable for fast hikers who like to forge ahead of the group.
