Garrison - Sugarloaf Hill & Glenclyffe Loop - 7+ Miles

Another picturesque hike in the Hudson Highlands State Park area! The hike begins at the Garrison Metro North train station, heading South along the Hudson to the Castle Rock Unique area at Wing & Wing (yup), eventually catching the Sugarloaf trail for a long, mostly gentle climb to the eponymous hill. On the return leg, we will add a river-bank loop to bring up the mileage to 6+ miles, with an elevation gain of 1000 feet. The hike encompasses river views, meadows, and mansions of a bygone era. Bring plenty of water and snacks, and appropriate seasonal items (sun- and insect-protection in summer, and crampons in winter). Day-of-hike-only phone: 973-704-7362.
**Note** We hike at a moderate pace, and never leave anyone behind. Our hikes are not suitable for fast hikers who like to forge ahead of the group.
