Cushetunk Mountain Hike (5+ Miles)

This will be a moderate 5 mile long hike in the Cushetunk Mountain Nature Preserve on the shores of Round Valley Reservoir. We will have a sustained climb at the beginning, with more a more gradual climb at the end for an elevation gain of 860 feet. Given the elevation gain plus rock and roots, this is not recommended for beginners. We will stop for a quick lunch/snack on the shores of the Round Valley Reservoir. There are no restrooms at the starting point, and a rustic latrine near the halfway point, so plan accordingly.

Bring plenty of water and snacks, and appropriate seasonal items (sun- and insect-protection in summer, and crampons in winter). Day-of-hike-only phone: 908-442-9318 (John I).

**Note** We hike at a moderate pace, and never leave anyone behind. Our hikes are not suitable for fast hikers who like to forge ahead of the group.
