Circuit Hike 9-Ledges and Lakes
Details
This hike starts with a climb on the Red Trail straight up to Claudius Smith's Den, then continues up the Tuxedo-Mt Ivy Trail, left onto the White Bar Trail, to the Dutch Doctor Shelter. We continue on the White Bar along the side of Blauvelt Mountain until we reach the Red Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail, which we will follow along Black Ash Mountain and Big Pine Hill for about 3 miles back to the parking lot. This hike is not for beginners. Our pace will be 2+mph. Breaks are few and short. We'll find a place for a quick lunch. We start on time. There are no facilities.
If you join this hike and are already on the going or waitlist of another hike, please choose one by noon on Thursday so waitlisted hikers have a chance to participate. If you don't choose, we will choose for you.
Bring plenty of water and snacks, plus appropriate seasonal items (sun and insect protection in summer, and crampons in winter). Day-of-hike-only phone: 917-597-8212
