Club Pitch: A group of hobby-minded and handy folks meeting up in parking lots and doing our projects. Work together or separately and shoot the shit while you watch someone cut a board, drill a hole, or solder a wire. If you need to borrow a cordless circular saw, I got one back there. Why do I want to start this group?
Well, I live in an apartment complex where you can't really do some of this type of work thats a bit more noisy (especially if you want to make a lot of wood cuts that lowe's won't do). No one wants you sawing here and I wanted to build an over the railing planter box for my herb garden. So my plan is to just bring the wood to some pretty vacant parking lot, away from anyone who would mind, cut the wood, drill the screws, etc.
It'd be cool to have a group of people either working on their own projects or helping each other with projects. Yea, i know there are maker spaces, but i don't have the kind of money they want for a membership and I'm guessing you don't either.

There are also other projects I have on my list to work on: replace the shocks on my fiancee's truck, add a spedometer to the ebike i built, turn my rasp pi into a cyberdeck (a fallout deck would be fun).

I figure we would make it a rotating thing around different parking lots or vacant areas, so as not to draw too much attention, haha. And also so we could find more vacant-ish lots in areas where we aren't tooo far from a hardware/auto/electronics/crafts store.

I was thinking early Saturday morning is when people who would be interested in doing things like this would be free.
