Because of Covid-19 we will do most lessons outside or online with Zoom. Two lessons are in the studio but you can join them online too. The lesson in studio are with maximum 5 persons.

2 weekend days (5 hours) on the street in different city's
5 online lessons with Zoom, theory and photo review 19.30 - 21.30

1 lesson in harbor Scheveningen to practice long exposure and to work with speed light 19.00 - 21.30

This is a course in street photography, documentary style, in which students will learn how to make their own series in spontaneous or more conceptual style.

There will be input by talking about techniques, viewpoint, composition and how to achieve your goals; a series of good photos. How to work on a project, your visual signature. You 'll learn theory, review the pictures and will practice on the street.

Before the first lesson, I send you movies of famous street photographers, theory and input about mapping. During the whole course I send you movies, tips and assignments.

Lesson 1 will be at the school, getting to know each other by showing our pictures, a short lecture about some knowledge's; camera, light, composition, storytelling, ways of working etc. After the input we start with mapping for our own project. If you don't want to be in the studio, you can join us online.

Lesson 2 is online starts with the work of different photographers and discuss their way of working. You will get tips and tricks concerning working in public spaces. We continue mapping and every student proposes about the project he or she wants to do.

Weekend day 1, we will visit an photo exhibition and we make photo tour with assignments.

In lesson 3 we will go out on the street, The Hague city center, to make a set of photos with a theme.

Lesson 4 is online: we review the pictures and discuss our project.

Lesson 5 we will be on the street again, probably in Scheveningen harbor. The practice is to work with speed-light in the streets. Combination with long exposure and flash.

Weekend day 2, we visit a city of our choice and work on your own theme.

Lesson 6 and 7, we review your project, pictures and assignments.
