Navigating Rejection in Our Relationships
Details
Let’s Talk About Relationships
Highly sensitive people often care deeply about connection — and somehow still end up confused, exhausted, or hurt by it. This is a judgment-free space to talk honestly about what’s actually happening in our relationships.
# This Week's Theme: Navigating Rejection & Rejection Sensitivity
Tuesday | 8:00 AM PT | Online via Zoom
Rejection is a natural part of relationships, but that doesn't make it easy.
Whether it's feeling left out, experiencing criticism, noticing someone becoming distant, or not receiving the response we hoped for, rejection can stir up feelings of hurt, insecurity, anger, or self-doubt.
For highly sensitive people, these experiences can sometimes feel especially intense. We may find ourselves replaying conversations, questioning what we did wrong, withdrawing to protect ourselves, or working harder to regain someone's approval.
But what happens when we begin to recognize these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment?
This week in Empowered Relationships, we'll explore rejection, rejection sensitivity, and how we can navigate these experiences while maintaining both our connections with others and our connection with ourselves.
Together, we'll discuss:
- How rejection sensitivity can influence the way we interpret and respond to interactions
- The difference between actual rejection, perceived rejection, and the fear of rejection
- How our protective patterns—Warrior, Fortress, Chameleon, and Nomad—might show up when we feel unwanted or disconnected
- Ways to communicate our feelings and needs without blaming, withdrawing, or abandoning ourselves
- How to navigate disappointment while maintaining healthy boundaries and self-respect
- What it might look like to respond to rejection with greater self-compassion and emotional flexibility
This is a discussion-based gathering, so rather than focusing on a presentation or lesson, we'll create space to share experiences, exchange perspectives, ask questions, and learn from one another.
As always, you're welcome to participate in whatever way feels comfortable. Whether you have a personal experience to share or simply want to listen and reflect, there's a place for you here.
Our goal isn't to eliminate the pain of rejection. It's to explore how we can remain grounded in our own worth while navigating the vulnerability of connection.
When: Tuesday at 8:00 AM Pacific Time
