# What If You Don't Know What You Want Anymore?

Finding Clarity, Purpose, and Direction During Life's Transitions
Monday, November 16, 2026 | 12:00 PM PT | Via Zoom
Have you ever reached a point in your life when the things you once wanted no longer seem to fit?
Maybe you've spent years meeting expectations, taking care of others, or working toward goals that once felt meaningful. And now you're finding yourself wondering: What do I actually want?
For highly sensitive people, this question can feel especially complicated. We may be deeply attuned to the needs and expectations of others, making it difficult to distinguish between what we genuinely want and what we've learned we're supposed to want.
Sometimes, when life feels uncertain, we also fall into familiar protective patterns. We might push harder (Warrior), withdraw (Fortress), adapt to everyone else's expectations (Chameleon), or keep moving to avoid discomfort (Nomad). While these responses can serve us in different ways, they can also make it harder to recognize what we genuinely want.
But what if not knowing what you want isn't a problem to solve? What if it's an opportunity to get curious about who you're becoming?
In this warm, interactive gathering, we'll explore the psychology of purpose, identity, and personal values, including how our priorities can shift during midlife and other significant life transitions. We'll also explore practical, research-informed strategies for reconnecting with what matters most to us.
Together, we'll explore:

  • Why our sense of purpose, identity, and priorities can change over time
  • How expectations, responsibilities, and familiar stress responses can make it harder to recognize our own desires
  • What research tells us about purpose, meaning, and psychological well-being
  • How to distinguish between what we genuinely want and what we feel we should want
  • How to recognize clues about what matters to us by reflecting on moments when we've felt most alive, engaged, or fulfilled
  • Why small experiments and curiosity can sometimes help us find clarity more effectively than trying to think our way to the perfect answer

We'll also make space for gentle reflection and conversation, including a few guided exercises to help you explore what you may want more of, what no longer fits, and what you might be curious to try next.
You don't need to have the answers to participate. And you certainly don't need to be in midlife. Whether you're navigating a major transition, reconsidering your priorities, or simply feeling a little disconnected from yourself, you're welcome here.
As always, participation is encouraged but never required. You're welcome to share, listen, reflect, or simply enjoy being in the company of others.
Come as you are. You don't need to know what you want to begin discovering what matters.
When: Monday, November 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM Pacific Time
Where: Online via Zoom (meeting details provided through Meetup)
