# Anti-Hustle Think Tank: Slow Down & Choose Your People Wisely
Wednesday | 5:00 PM Pacific | The Healthy Sensitive Community
Are you choosing your relationships—or are your old habits choosing them for you?
Some people feel like home. Others challenge us to grow. Some are wonderful people who simply aren't a good fit. And a few leave us feeling like we need a three-day vacation after a 20-minute conversation.
But how do we tell the difference?
Sometimes we're so quick to respond from our usual protective habits that we don't stop to ask whether someone genuinely belongs in our lives.
Perhaps we pull away from someone who could become a wonderful friend because closeness feels uncomfortable.
Perhaps we're drawn to someone who needs rescuing because we're accustomed to being the caretaker.
Or perhaps we're so skilled at accommodating others that we forget to ask a surprisingly important question:
"Do I actually enjoy this person—or am I just really good at making the relationship work?"
In this week's Anti-Hustle Think Tank, we're exploring why slowing down may be one of the most important things we can do to build healthier, more meaningful relationships.
### What We'll Explore
- A Quick Review of the six types of relationships: Kindred Spirits, Complementary Companions, Mirrors, Expanders, the Mismatched, and the Harmful.
- Review of our four protective archetypes: How the Warrior, Fortress, Chameleon, and Nomad influence whom we welcome, avoid, or hold onto.
- Familiarity vs. compatibility: Why someone who feels familiar isn't necessarily good for us—and someone who challenges us isn't necessarily bad for us.
- Growth vs. depletion: How to recognize when a relationship is helping us become more ourselves versus requiring us to abandon ourselves.
- The power of the pause: How slowing down helps us respond with intention rather than automatically repeating old patterns.
- Signals Our Body Sense: What our bodies can tell us about the kinds of relationships we should maybe linger over and spend more time in...and which ones we might be best served leaving behind.
### Come As You Are
This is a relaxed, thoughtful conversation—not a lecture, therapy session, or another opportunity to add personal growth to your already ridiculous to-do list.
You're welcome to share your experiences, ask questions, or simply listen. Cameras are optional, and participation is always at your comfort level.
Our guiding question:
What might change if we stopped automatically rescuing, retreating, accommodating, or escaping—and gave ourselves time to discover who we genuinely want in our lives?
Because creating a life you don't have to recover from includes being intentional about the people you invite into it.
