For those asking what the day/hike on Block Island looks like:
You'll take the 11:50 Ferry from New London arriving on Block Island at 1:05 where Dennis and I will be waiting for you. We'll taxi to the North End about $5-6 per person. Dennis will lead the hike (about 4 miles) back with the last mile on sand until we get to the Beach Pavilion that offers a concession stand with food, showers, restrooms, and beach rentals. We’ll be there until dinner in which we will know that morning what restaurants will accommodate us (optional, you're free to do your own thing). It will either be the Beachhead or Kimberly‘s Restaurant. After dinner, we will walk towards the Ferry where there will be plenty of Ice Cream spots, coffee shops, etc.. The Ferry leaves Block Island at 8:10 and arrives in New London at 9:25.

Carpool: we will leave at 9:45 A.M. from I 95 exit 18 (Sherwood Island) commuter parking lot . Once off exit, head away from Sherwood Island ; lot is on right). People are expected to "self-assemble" and leave the carpool site to arrive on time.

Clayhead Nature Trail
This scenic nature trail winds through shrubs, fields, and wetlands to the Clayhead Bluffs along Block Island's northeast shore. This trail and the maze of trails leading off from it provide wonderful walking and bird watching with views of farms, ponds, and the coast.

Hiking, rock climbing, biking, skiing, and snow shoeing have dangers and you take those risks upon yourself. As a participant you understand that you are responsible for your own preparedness and well-being and will hold no one else liable in case of injury.
