Rockhouse Hill Sanc, Oxford, CT. (Parking at the High School) Picnic Afterwards.

This is not the normal starting point!!!

Parking will be at the Oxford High School - 61 Quaker Farms Rd, Oxford, CT 06478. Drive around the back of the school to the other side of the building and use the lot closest to the soccer field.

This is a moderate B+ rated, 6+ mile hike for distance and elevation changes at the Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary 600-acre preserve. Please arrive a few minutes early because we plan to start promptly at time listed. No pets allowed.

If you RSVP “YES” and can’t make it, PLEASE change your RSVP so that the next person on the waitlist can attend.

At an elevation of around 1,000 feet is a spectacular overlook providing panoramic views of the Housatonic River and the surrounding landscape.

Please wear hiking footwear and bring as needed: water, snacks, bug spray, personal first aid (and meds), poles and backpack.

If a picnic is scheduled, and you'd like to participate, please bring something that could be shared (i.e. potluck).
