Black Rock State Park Watertown, CT - B+ Hike - 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 Miles

THIS IS NOT FOR A BEGINNER!!

This hike will eventually have a rigorous 1/4-mile climb to a wonderful lookout of the town below. We will be covering between 5-1/2 and 6-1/2 miles of trail at the Black Rock State Park in Watertown CT with at least 1,200 feet of elevation changes. There will be a chance to opt out after 5-1/2 miles or complete the whole hike. Hike rating is B+ and target pace will be ~2.2 mph, accounting for weather conditions.

Please reread that 1st paragraph to make sure you understand what is expected!!!

Meeting for lunch at Senor Pancho’s restaurant afterwards (optional). Just a minute drive from the park exit. (360 Watertown Road, Thomastown, CT)

Please arrive a few minutes early because we plan to start promptly at the time listed. If you RSVP "YES" and can't make it, PLEASE change your RSVP so that the next person on the waitlist can attend.

We do ask for a contribution of $3 per hike or $15 per year to cover meetup.com fees and our annual social event.

Please wear hiking footwear, and bring as needed: poles, bug spray, backpack, personal first aid and meds, water and snacks. No pets allowed.
