This hike takes us past some of Connecticut’s most majestic waterfalls—expect some serious volume with the spring snowmelt! We’ll trek along the scenic Housatonic River cliffs, pass the point where the rivers converge, and climb up to some truly stunning peak viewpoints.

We’ll also stop by an Appalachian Trail shelter, where thru-hikers rest during bad weather and overnight stays—a fun glimpse into the AT long-distance hiking experience.

📍 Hike Details:

  • Distance: ~6 miles
  • Elevation gain: ~1,000 ft.
  • Difficulty: Moderate (B+) due to a steep 600 ft. climb over 0.5 miles to the top of Tenmile Hill.
We will move at a conversational pace of -2.5 mph , with plenty of breaks for water, snacks and catching our breath.
