OWL night hike

Welcome to first of our Night hikes. This hike is somewhere between a Beginner+ and Intermediate Hike.

The hike will pass through beautiful views of mountains and valleys and is truly a majestic place.

This is not a hike for Beginners. Yes, you need to be at the minimum a fit beginner who exercises regularly, in order to complete this hike. There is plenty of scrambling, some bouldering and then some climbing involved in this hike.

Any car can make it to the final parking spot.

When: Saturday November 22 @ 7.15pm we will gather at our central meeting point in Dubai and will leave at 7.30pm. the Hike will start around 9.30pm and we shall weap it up by 1am/ 1.30am, being home latest by 3am/ 3.30am.

Where: will be announced privately to the confirmed participants via WhatsApp group

Total distance: 9.5KM, expected to be covered in around 3.5-4 hours with breaks

Total elevation gain: 325 meters

Carpool sheet: Will be announced on WhatsApp group with the confirmed participants.

Cost: AED 50/ participant to be paid in cash on event day

Minimum requirements:

Previous hiking experience/ active sportsman

Headlamp is a must. No torch or mobile phone lights allowed as they can make you lose balance and fall down. You can get a basic headlamp from Lulu/ Carrefour Hypermarkets for as little as 30dhs.

Proper hiking boots/ trainers with good grip (No fashion sneakers allowed). Anyone coming with trainers/ sneakers is doing so at their own risk, since you can easily twist your foot on the rocks/ boulders. Ankle cut hiking boots are highly recommended. You can get them for less than 300 DHS at Columbia stores

2-3 liters of water & electrolytes/ Gatorade/ Pocari Sweat

A Good night’s rest along with a full stomach

While there are several experienced & helpful hikers in the group, your participation in the hike implies you clearly understand and agree to any unforeseen risks of injury, exhaustion or worse, caused due to the inherent nature of such outdoor activities.
