Night hike wadi hellio 28/3/2025

Wadi Al Helo - meaning sweet valley in English - plays host to an array of diverse wildlife, has Bronze Age ruins to explore and a restored Islamic watchtower above a rocky hill, standing witness to the story of the village. Blessed with abundant underground water, is home to an important archaeological site and a restored Islamic watchtower. It has been declared a protected area, due to its bountiful birds, reptiles, rodents and freshwater fish.
Wadi Al Helo is located Southwest of the coastal town of Kalba in the eastern region.
Total distance covered will be around 7KM.
Total elevation gain during the hike: 300-350 meters (approx)
When: Friday March 28th @ 7.15pm we will gather at the central meeting point in Dubai and leave at 7.30pm
Where: will be announced privately to the attendees via WhatsApp.
Carpool sheet: Will be announced on the WhatsApp group to the confirmed participants.
Cost: AED 50/ participant to be paid on event day.
Minimum requirements:
• Some Hiking/ Physical activities experience/ active sportsmen
• Proper hiking boots/ trainers with good grip as there is risk of falling on the rocks and getting inured with wrong footwear
• Headlamp is a must. You can find one for as little as 39 dhs at Carrefour or Lulu Hypermarkets, while you can find better ones at Adventure HQ, Go Sports, Sun & Sand Sports or Decathelon
• 2 liters of water & electrolytes/ Gatorade/ - Pocari Sweat
• Light snacks for the way
• A Good night’s rest
• A full stomach
Please be advised that if you have little or no hiking experience, aren't an active sportsman or aren't into running, swimming or any other kind of physical activity, you may find this hike to be a difficult one. For active individuals, this should be a beginner level hike.
While there are several experienced & helpful hikers in the group, your participation in the hike implies you clearly understand and agree to any unforeseen risks of injury or exhaustion or even death, caused due to the inherent nature of outdoor activities.
