The area was first settled in 1794 by the Ashbridges family, whose name is remembered by the nearby bay and park. Their homestead on Queen Street East was well to the west of the area currently identified as the Beaches. But did they ever leave the area.
In terms of hauntings there are several stories of near drownings and murders and voices in the night. The beach or beaches however you wish to call it has a long history and with that stories remain. This special tour explores the haunted history of the famous Woodbine, Kew and Balmy beaches. Dress warmly as it's going to be a cool evening, hope you all get home. Well we shall see won't we!
This walking tour is for all walking levels and fitness skills. Please dress for the season and bring water. And remember to bring your love of history. Hope to see you there.
This walking tour begins outside the Beaches Branch of the Toronto Public Library at Queen Street East, and Lee Avenue adjacent to Kew Gardens. The tour returns to the start location.
This tour has a ticketed price of $15.00 per person!
