The first house on the site was built by the Baldwin family in 1818, but was destroyed by fire in the 1830s.
It was rebuilt after the Austin family purchased the land. One of Toronto's grandest estates the house was built and enlarged over a long period at the end of the 19th century.
With a famous neighbour named Henry Pellatt, and Case Loma across the street, the Spadina Hill area is an historic neighbourhood of charm and elegance. Not to be missed. Please book early.
In 1984 the house and gardens were taken over by the City of Toronto as a museum. One of the many delights of Spadina House was the garden, once a focal point of Toronto society. Can you imagine the parties?
This walking tour is for all levels and walkers. The tour begins and ends at Spadina House.
This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person!
