This tour requires a PRESTO card for getting around the city on TTC. Consider this a hop on hop off - history walking tour!
First it was Ambrose Small and my team of brilliant detectives who tried to figure it all out. The walkers on this tour just about cracked the case. Well done detectives.
And then the case that shocked Canada and the world, the murder of Burt Massey! That was a tough assignment with 15 characters all wanting their time in the sun!
And then just at the beginning of summer another case came up, and landed on our desk, the burning of the Noronic, the disaster that fascinated and saddened our city.
But we cracked that case, and came up with a why, and how, well done detectives. But now another case has cropped up, needing our attention, and we need brain power for this one. The details of the case are down below. Read on my detectives!
The Harley Karulis Detective Agency needs your help once again! Here is the folder with all the information. This time you all are members of the Lord Durham League. The report filed to the colonial government on the reasons and causes of the 1837 rebellion led to Canadian Confederation in 1867!
This walking tour/game takes participants back to 1837 Toronto, and explores the many sites associated with the rebellion which led directly to the beginning of Canada. This historic event will introduce you to 22 historic characters, and 20 historic sites throughout Toronto, the most so far, and each has their own dark secrets and stories, it will be up to you to uncover the truth, and who is covering up their own involvement or lies in other words.
On this tour we will meet and hear the stories of rebels, government officials and regular Torontonians caught up in civil war here in Upper Canada!
Hear the stories of those men sentenced to death by hanging, for treason, and listen to families who quietly fought the establishment, the dreaded and hated Family Compact.
Hosted by John Strachan, the head of the Family Compact, and the bishop of St. James! So ask questions, as many as you wish, but beware a powerful man indeed! He might not want those questions asked. Just saying!
This tour requires a PRESTO card! Consider this a hop on hop off - history walking tour!
Our investigation begins outside the Toronto Public Library Northern District Branch at 40 Orchard View Boulevard just north and west one block from Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue West!
A short video about the event will follow for your perusal in the comments section. Your assignment is to provide evidence for the Lord Durham Report on the causes and justifications of the rebellion!
This is the most complicated assignment to date.
This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person. Please get your tickets early if you would like to attend as this tour has a limit of 25 participants!
