Welcome to The Hong Kong Natural History Society Meetup group! We are a community of nature lovers, and eco-conscious individuals who enjoy exploring our beautiful countryside and its biodiversity. Join us for day trips, evening hikes and events that promote nature preservation and awareness. The society supports local researchers and other local societies through planning and attending lectures on topics related to the natural environment. Come and share your love for nature while capturing memorable moments in photos with a community of like-minded individuals!!

This one-hour documentary, filmed over three years, chronicles over seven years of ongoing research and conservation work across Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta carried out by The Nature Conservancy.
The film highlights the importance of oyster reefs and the fascinating history of oysters in Hong Kong going back hundreds of years.
The HK Natural History Society are delighted that Marine Thomas, Associate Director of The Nature Conservancy, and a prominent advocate for restoring Hong Kong’s oyster reefs as seen in the film, will be joining us at the screening.
She will be joined by Professor Bayden Russell from the University of Hong Kong, who specialises in ecology and biodiversity and whose research also focuses on oyster reef restoration.
