Welcome Creativity to Improve the Self

Details

Creative time is necessary for our well-being. Scholars, researchers, and creative types from across the globe, all tell of improving one's mental well-being through creative practices. In this session, we will discuss ways in which each of us take time to be creative and how it improves the daily life - interactions, routines, and commitments. It's not easy to make time for ourselves, especially for art, and yet our well-being requires it.

Some interesting reads around this topic are:

  1. Creativity and Well-being: A meta analysis, Acar, S. et al, Leiden Universteit (2020)
  2. The Creative Act: A Way of Being, Rick Rubin (2023)
  3. Creative Therapy: Using Art to Improve Your Mental and Emotional Health, Wayne Pascall (2023)
  4. The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It For Life, Twyla Tharp (2003)

Just bring yourself - your experience, voice and truths.

Yours in optimism and realism,
