For our on Sunday, September 27, the topic will be:

"Is America Broke? What Can We Do About the Debt That is Too Enormous to Be Repaid?" We now have a federal government debt exceeding $40 trillion, with unfunded liabilities for veteran benefits, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Add state and local government debt, corporate debt, investments bought on margin, institutional real estate debt, and personal debt, including student loan debt, mortgage debt, credit card debt, and car and vehicle loans.

What will become of this looming financial crisis? Will the ultimate result be a depression, high and prolonged inflation, or both simultaneously? Will any administration be able to avoid or minimize the resulting consequences? What should we as individuals do to protect ourselves from the resulting chaos? Stuart Hirsch will introduce the topic, followed by open discussion.

We meet the 4th Sunday of each month, 12:30-2:00, and are currently meeting online. At about 12:45, the speaker that day introduces the topic (usually a 20 minute introduction), followed by open discussion.

We were meeting in a restaurant before the covid situation. When we met there, our format was: lunch and socializing, the first hour; then a presentation, followed by open discussions. The topics are on various subjects related to human values, such as: aspects of society; the arts; social science; current events; nature and evolution; history; science and technology; ethics; philosophy, etc.
