Self-Therapy Book Club: Learning IFS reading the book "Self-Therapy"
Details
Good mental health is an important part of living an ethical, self-examined life: one of the goals of The Humanist Being for ourselves and our members.
Getting good mental healthcare is difficult and expensive. There aren't enough good therapists to go around and our healthcare system is not adequate to provide those that need the means to get good therapy.
The Internal Family System, as presented by Dr. Jay Earley in his book "Self-Therapy" provides a framework to approach the parts of ourselves which get in our way, keep us from being the kind, loving and compassionate person we all are at our core.
This is a book group. A study group. It is Peer-to-Peer which means no one involved is a professional therapist. We are not going to be doing therapy on each other.
The group is going to read the book "Self-Therapy, by Dr. Jay Earley and come to understand the system. In the group we can ask questions about the theory and the application of the system as laid out in the book, but we won't be doing actual theraputic sessions.
The Internal Family Systems is a game changer. Members of The Humanist Being have been in therapy for years in the past. They found that they got more done in three months of doing the Internal Family Systems than years of talk therapy.
Come and find out more!
We'll be virtual, so people can come from all over!
