Wines of the Loire

Details
This evening, we welcome back David Cousland, based in North Berwick, to display more of the wines he sources and imports, directly from wineries, along the length of France's River Loire.
David acquires his wine from the mouth of the river all the way towards the sources, well inland, along France's longest river. Details of the specific focus for tonight's wines will become available once his next shipment has arrived from his suppliers.
From this vast vineyard area, the white wines tend to be based on Sauvignon Blanc or Chenin Blanc, while the reds tend to come from the Cabernet Franc grape variety. However, other varieties are grown and used in all colours. Wines can be produced in the whole range of bone-dry to unctuously sweet. David's tend to be at the drier end of that spectrum.
