Czech Wines from Bohemia and Moravia

Details
Czech wines fly under the radar for many people. Yet, having a border with each of Austria, Slovakia and Germany, there are better-known wine producing countries and regions very close by. So, why not Bohemia and Moravia?
We are delighted to welcome Alzbeta 'Betty' Novotna, founder and CEO of 'Wines of Bohemia', based in Bath, as she travels to Edinburgh to speak to us about the wines of the country of her birth.
Moravia and Bohemia sit at the same latitude as Champagne, Alsace and the Mosel, to name some famous wine regions. Its continental climate is well suited for many varieties of grapes - indigenous and international.
Since the turn of the Millennium, the number of boutique and family-run wineries in this principal wine producing area of the country has multiplied significantly. The dedication that these small businesses can make to their wines shines through. We shall taste a range of these wines that Betty brings in to the country, white and red.
As this event is outwith our usual season, even subscribed members will require to pay £20.00 to attend. This is, of course, a discount on the non-subscriber rate of £25.00 per person. As ever, cash is preferred.
The event is taking place in association with the Scottish Wine Society. So, the IWSS needs to have a significant presence...!!!
Come and be amongst the first to discover an undiscovered part of the wine world. We look forward to seeing you, there.
