Wines of Poland - with wine-maker Kamil Barczentewicz
Details
Have you heard the news about wines coming from Poland? Take this chance to be among the first in this country to try them!
The current trend is towards 'cool climate wines' - witness the success of English and Welsh wines, for instance. Poland fits this profile perfectly.
The Barczentewicz vineyard is located about 2 hours South-East of Warsaw, and benefits from a continental climate to aid in the ripening of the grapes. Kamil set up this winery, himself, planting all the vines over 12 Hectares of land in a special microclimate and boasting mineral terroir. The Vistula, one of Poland's principal rivers, is only 3 km away, and helps moderate the temperatures in the vineyards.
Polish wines are gradually becoming available in this country, and a small number from this winery are included among them. However, Kamil Barczentewicz, the owner and winemaker, is travelling to Glasgow to be with us, this evening, and he will introduce us to his wines of note.
Come and give a warm Scottish welcome to this star of Polish wine, enjoy his cool climate wines - and find out where to get your hands on them! This is going to be a great evening!
