Forks over Knives viewing and Pot Luck

A member of our group, Revae Reynolds, has kindly volunteered to host a vegan pot luck and showing of the movie "Forks Over Knives" at her house on Saturday, June 1, at 6:00.

"Forks Over Knives" is a documentary film from 2011 that highlights the work of T. Colin Campbell, PhD, and Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr., M.D. Campbell was working in nutrition research at Cornell University and Esselstyn was a medical doctor at the Cleveland Clinic. They had not met each other, but their curiosity and research led them to the same startling conclusion: chronic diseases including heart disease and type 2 diabetes, and others, can almost always be prevented - and in many cases reversed - by adopting a whole-food, plant based diet. Although the film is 13 years old, the stories of their discovery are captivating and the message is even more important now than it was then, as evidenced by our worsening public health statistics.
